Joining Johnie Howard’s Surfing Crew

On Friday I received a call telling me I was working too many shifts. But I didn’t realise I had worked 14 days straight with only one day off in between. The focus of earning money so we can travelling had been a high focus but it wasn’t until I was speaking to a patient yesterday I was reminded the important things in life. She told me of her creative prospects and doing the things she loves.

So today is my day off and I decided I’m doing whatever I chose to do, which excludes all the things I ‘should’ be doing off my To Do list. Today was about Me, and that’s the most important thing.

I had nice sleep in, snuggled and played with my doggies followed by a yummy breakfast.

Then I joined Johnie Howard’s Surfing Crew and had my first surf in a month. So the waves were only ankle to knee high but it was perfect lying on my board enjoying the crystal blue water, the fresh air blowing lightly over my skin, and the sunshine tanning my already sun kissed skin.

And now I have relocated to under a tree at the beach enjoying my surrounds where I am just about to open my book while sipping freshly squeezed juice.

This is what I call bliss, the peace of just being free!

It’s easy to become too dedicated to “the cause” sometimes, to our own detriment. Nothing like a me day to bring things back into focus. Good call 🙂
